Since 1835, Blue Island has been welcoming immigrants from all around the world and is home to many historic buildings and landmarks that have played an important role in shaping the south suburbs of Chicago as we know them today. We were honored when city officials reached out to have our team develop a new set of stationery items for their leadership branches.
As a staple community in Chicago’s South Suburbs, Blue Island has a rich history and is known for its growth and prosperity. Creating a stationery package that embodied these characteristics required intense focus and collaboration from all parties involved. Using the city’s existing branding from Aliado Studio, our team leveraged a strong color palette as well as Serif and Sans Serif fonts to develop and present three concepts that best represented the history and future of Blue Island’s community and government officials.
The selection shown above and in the detail shots below went through 3 additional rounds of minor changes before establishing a final layout that was then used to create variations for the Fire Department and Public Works Departments as well.
Blue Island is one of just eleven incorporated areas in Illinois to be designated by the White House as a “Preserve America” community.
