DISCUSSION
Even though almost everything is digital or online these days, that doesn’t mean we aren’t all familiar with the stack of paperwork sitting at the end of our desk. Those stacks, if left unattended or discarded without care, could end up in the hands of identity thieves looking to steal your information. Community leaders in Orland Township and Tinley Park stepped up to help protect their citizens and asked us to create a flyer design for their Community Shredding, Food Drive and Electronics Recycling Event.
DEVELOPMENT
While the primary focus was going to be the on-site shredding capabilities, we also wanted to make sure that visitors knew their old electronics could also be recycled curtosy of the Orland Township Highway Department. Volunteers would be on hand from the Tinley Park Park District to help collect food donations, while the Cook County Sheriff Office took care of disposing of unsed or expired prescription drugs. Thats a lot of information to pack in!
Choosing a theme for this flyer required a lot of room for content while still incorporating unique design elements and an area for event sponsor logos. Varying weight of typography and simple icons help guide audiences around the flyer to absorb all of the critical details before attending the event. After a few revisions we landed on a content packed layout that also translated well into newsletter articles and social media posts.
DELIVERY
Once approved, the final step in getting this flyer out into the public was to work with our top of the line printing partners to provide a few thousand flyers on a premium 100lb Gloss Cover paper with a specialized coating to help prevent tearing and liquid damage. If you’re in the area on October 23, be sure to stop by and check out the event!
A special thank you to the Orland Township Highway Department, Tinley Park Park District, State Representative Bob Rita, eWorks and the Cook County Sheriff’s Office for allowing us to craft the design for this huge event.
